I started actively playing first person shooter games online
a little before qtest, the pre-alpha
Quake
demo was released. I ran a few servers of my own and I also played on
Urdsgjallar (urda7.tf.hut.fi).
I played a part in the forming of one of the first Finnish Quake clans
Finnish Allied Quakers
(FAQ for short) too. Sadly, that clan ceased to exist.
FAQ was a very good clan so afterwards I didn't really want to
join any clan that wasn't at least as good. I also didn't have
time to play as much so my own skills were rusting away.
Therefore I started to play Team Fortress, Team Fortress 2
and various other games
with the guys from
SS Wolfenstein
under an old fake nick
.
Since then I've played Tribes, Counter-Strike (a mod to Half-Life), Return To Castle Wolfenstein and BattleField Vietnam. I've compressed my configuration files for all the Quake-like games into one ZIP file, which is conveniently called axu.pk3. Most of them don't work anymore, since the games have undergone several changes and patches even after I've stopped playing them.
In 2010 I played a little Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It was somewhat frustrating because of the poor user interface design.
