Encode770

Encode770 is a shell script for encoding videos for Nokia 770. The idea of the script is to add it to your file manager's (Nautilus, Konqueror, etc) menu so that it can be invoked for video files. The script makes a new video ending with _770.avi in the same directory. It opens a xterm window where it runs the encoding process. This makes it easy to encode wanted files with your favourite file manager.

Dependencies are: mencoder and xterm

Download: encode770 (Version 5, right-click and Save as..).

Usage:

• Download to any directory.
• Add execute permission the file (chmod a+rx encode770).
• Add to file manager's launch menu. In Nautilus right-click a video file, choose Open with | Open with other application. Use custom command, browse, find the script.
• Now you should be able to right click a video and choose the encode770 script.
• Copy the encoded file (ending with _770.avi) to 770 and enjoy!
